Brother of bikie boss buried after

Sydney gym shooting

Mourners have gathered in Sydney's south-west to farewell bike boss Tarek Zahed's brother Omar Zahed after he was shot dead inside a gym.
Family and friends gathered at Lakemba mosque before heading to Rookwood Cemetery for Omar Zahed's funeral after he was executed at Bodyfit Gym, Auburn, on Tuesday night.
His brother, and Comancheros boss, Tarek is still in a serious condition in hospital after he was struck by 10 bullets at the gym.

NSW Police and Raptor squad officers, the group which targets the gangland crime, were highly visible throughout the funeral proceedings.

It comes as NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Stuart Smith blamed weak laws for organised crime running rampant across the country.
In a briefing leaked to Nine Newspapers, Smith told cabinet ministers the current legislation was not sufficient to crack down on criminal syndicates.
"With the current legislation and the current powers, we're (police) swinging a pool noodle and they've (crime bosses) got guns," Smith said.
Former Police Minister David Elliott said the government needs to be "very, very serious if we are going to attack organised crime".
