Officer 'bitten' during ramming of police car after burglary in Melbourne

been arrested after an alleged burglary led to the offenders ramming a police car and biting an officer in Melbourne.
Officers responded to reports of a burglary at a business in Dandenong South around 3am this morning.
When police got to the premises, a Toyota Hiace van allegedly rammed into the police van on Langley Street.
"A short scuffle has occurred between the two male offenders and two police officers, before the offenders fled in the Hiace van," Victoria Police said.

The offending driver, a 28-year-old Dandenong man, sustained serious injuries while his passenger, a 32-year-old Mornington man, suffered minor injuries.
Both men were trapped in the van before emergency services extricated them and they were taken to hospital.
The pair remain in hospital under police guard.
The Audi driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
