Driver killed after truck runs off road and onto train line below

A driver has died after a B-double truck ran off a road, crashing into a ditch and onto a railway line in Victoria's east.
The truck driver lost control of the truck on the Western Highway, near the Midland Highway overpass, in Wendouree and crashed about 3.45am, according to police.
The truck left the road and ended up in a ditch the Ballarat to Maryborough railway line uses to pass under the highway.

The driver of the truck, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
The Midland Highway has been closed in both directions and buses are replacing V-Line trains between Maryborough and Ballarat.
The truck cabin ended up on the railway line.. (Nine)

Emergency services have had to use a large crane to move the smashed truck from the railway line.
