One dead, five seriously injured in South Australia car crash
A 51-year-old mother-of-two has died in a car crash that seriously injured five other passengers in Adelaide's south.
Georgina Heath and her partner were on their way home early this morning from a friend's birthday party at Mick O'Shea's Irish Pub when the Hyundai SUV they were and a Mitsubishi sedan collided.
She was found dead at the scene of the crash on Main South Road in Hackham.
Two other passengers — her partner and their 28-year-old friend — were taken to Flinders Medical Centre in serious but not life-threatening conditions.
The 35-year-old driver of the SUV was in a similarly serious condition and the 17-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi and his passenger sustained serious injuries in the crash.
St Patrick's Day patrons said they could hear the impact from the surrounding pubs.
"They ran down but it was too late, a split second decision to pull out and you know, thats it," a witness told 9News.
South Australian Police are investigating the incident.
The woman's death marks the 34th life lost on South Australian roads this year.
